2021 Tasmanian ACE Annual Scientific Meeting: Mindfulness Workshop
This mindfulness workshop will be run by an international expert, linking mindfulness practice with wellbeing and improved health outcomes. The workshop will give you the opportunity to learn about mindfulness as a practised skill, and then move to a guided mindfulness session. By learning to maintain equanimity, negative thoughts and emotions can be rapidly mitigated when they occur. A current focus is persistent pain patients, who can halve their pain experience in less than a minute, once they have completed the training.
Dr Bruno Cayoun is a clinical psychologist and principal developer of Mindfulness-integrated Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MiCBT), integrating the core principles of Eastern mindfulness with the Western evidence-based principles of CBT. Based in Hobart, he works clinically, trains health-professional colleagues, and undertakes international research.
