Volunteers needed!

We are currently looking for volunteers with relevant experience and expertise in any of these areas to be part of one (or more) of 4 subgroups to organise the strands.
At this stage, the tasks of the strand subgroups are to define what their strand is about, including a 100-word blurb for the website

I am part of the Program Working Group preparing for the forthcoming International Conference on Mindfulness – Asia Pacific 2022 (ICM-AP 2022) to be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 15-18 November 2022 (plus a one-day retreat Saturday 19 November)  – see www.icmmelbourne2022.org.

This conference is endorsed by the Consciousness, Mindfulness, Compassion International Association which has been connected with the previous European-based ICMs and the inaugural ICM-AP held in Auckland in 2019.

The conference theme is Contemplative Practice for the 21st Century, and there are 4 main strands as follows:

  1. Spiritual, cultural and philosophical
    Chair: Charles Potter (contact: charles@thecontemplary.org)
  2. Social, political and environmental
    Chair: Fran Shawyer (contact: 0400 6656 76; frances.shawyer@monash.edu)
  3. Technology, education and media
Co-chairs: Bruno Cayoun (contact: bruno.cayoun@mindfulness.net.au) and Lisa Emerson
  4. Intrapersonal, interpersonal and investigative
Chair: Nicholas Van Dam (Contact: nicholas.vandam@unimelb.edu.au)

We are currently looking for volunteers with relevant experience and expertise in any of these areas to be part of one (or more) of 4 subgroups to organise the strands.
At this stage, the tasks of the strand subgroups are to define what their strand is about, including a 100-word blurb for the website. Other subgroup tasks include:

  • to come up with a short, prioritised list of 3 keynotes,
  • and to structure the program for the strand after abstracts are received, including possible workshops as well as symposiums.

Frequency of meetings will vary over time but will be conducted online, for instance, via zoom.

Please contact the applicable strand chair(s) with an expression of interest, including relevant background, if you are interested in helping develop the program for this exciting conference by joining one or more of these subgroups.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Kind regards,
Bruno Cayoun
Director, MiCBT Institute
