Quit Smoking

Participants needed!

The Resilience Interventions for Smoking Cessation (‘RISC’) study is using a randomised controlled trial design with adults who are regular smokers and are currently planning to quit. The study will investigate whether training in cognitive, behavioural and mindfulness-based approaches will have an impact on resilience and smoking. Once consented, participants will be randomised to one of four groups:

  1. Mindfulness-integrated Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MiCBT) plus peer-support;
  2. Mindfulness Training (MT) plus peer-support,
  3. Setting Realistic Goals (SRG) plus peer-support
  4. Control.
