Many people turn to meditation when they’re in crisis. One in five Australians will experience a mental illness at some time in their lives and, in certain circumstances, meditation practice can exacerbate mental illness.
In this workshop, you can learn how to:
- Recognise when students or clients present with a mental illness, and whether or not this is meditation-contraindicated
- Adapt your meditation teaching methods to meet these circumstances
- Manage the impact on any other students in the class, and
- Make an informed decision on whether or not to refer students/clients to mental health professionals
