MiCBT is aย four-step therapy approach that integrates mindfulness and some of the basic principles of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to help you improve the way you feel and to help you change unhelpful behaviours.ย
-
Personal Stage
Stage 1 will teach you mindfulness skills to notice and let go of unhelpful thoughts and emotions to address lifeโs challenges successfully. Here you will develop deep insight and equanimity and realize that you donโt have to be prey to every thought that enters your mind and every emotion that you feel.
-
Exposure Stage
Stage 2 will put into practise the self-regulation skills learnt in Stage 1. These will be applied to daily situations you might be avoiding to prevent discomfort. This is also the stage to develop more self-confidence.
-
Interpersonal Stage
Learn to develop better interpersonal understanding and communication skills in the face of tense situations, and learn to not react to other's reactivity.
-
Empathic Stage
The culmination of all the skills you have learned in the previous stages. This is the stage where we expand and establish a reliable sense of self-worth and contentment that prevents us from falling back into our old, unhelpful habits.
