Advanced Training in Mindfulness-based CBT

- Workshop Objectives: The main aim of this APS-endorsed advanced 1-day workshop is to
provide further understanding of MCBT principles and advanced skills to clinicians practising mindfulness training with clients and who have developed a personal practice. This workshop will be intensive, focusing on practical (rather than theoretical) aspects of mindfulness training, including discussion of difficult cases and the more eclectic ways of integrating the skills into clinical practice (e.g., capturing schemas "signatures" in the body). Advanced scanning methods will be explained and explored in detail. Participants will need comfortable clothing and a thick cushion. Numbers will be limited to maintain quality of delivery. - PD Points: An application for professional development points for various colleges to the APS has been lodged.

Introduction to Mindfulness-based CBT

) 2-day workshop is to provide clinicians with a good understanding of MCBT (MiCBT) principles and practical skills to implement MCBT (MiCBT) in their clinical work. The workshop will be held on two consecutive Saturdays to enable the practice of the skills learned on Day 1 for a week and then bring one’s experiences and questions on Day 2. - Workshop Objectives Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MCBT (MiCBT)) integrates
the core components of CBT techniques and the recent developments in information-processing research with mindfulness training, as understood and applied in the most ancient Theravada teaching (Satipatthana). The particularity of this model is its applicability to a wide range of disorders, whether acute or chronic. The aim of the workshop is to demonstrate effective skills to facilitate the treatment of chronic conditions and clients with personality disorders with a particular focus on the experience of the core principles of mindfulness meditation.
