Mindfulness-based CBT Workshop
with Bruno A. Cayoun
- DATE: 24 & 31 July 2004
- VENUE: The Pines Resort Seven Mile Beach Tasmania, Australia
- WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES: Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MCBT/MiCBT) is a
sophisticated integration of mindfulness core principles and traditional CBT. At The Hobart Clinic (psychiatric hospital) we have noted improvement in chronic patients after a few weeks of MCBT (MiCBT) treatment. Follow-up data are currently being collected. Enthusiasm for this approach among clinicians aware of recent developments in CBT has prompted repeats of this innovative workshop. The main aim of this APS-endorsed introductory (yet comprehensive) workshop is to provide clinicians with a good understanding of MCBT (MiCBT) principles and the necessary skills to implement it in their clinical work. No prior knowledge or experience of mindfulness training is assumed. The workshop will be held on two consecutive Saturdays to enable the practice of the skills learned on Day 1 for a week and then bring one’s experiences and questions on Day 2. Participant numbers will be limited to maintain quality of delivery. - PD Points This workshop is endorsed by the College of Clinical Psychologists, College of Counselling Psychologists, and College of Health Psychologists (16 specialist points)
