OVERVIEW

The main aim of this 8-week Foundation course is to provide clinicians with a sound understanding of MiCBT principles, theory and practice.
Course content will involve practical and experiential work, and include:
PREREQUISITES
No prior knowledge of mindfulness is assumed, however, a working knowledge of CBT or REBT is recommended.

Workshop content will involve practical and experiential components. Participants will learn:
TEACHING APPROACH
The 8-week Foundation Course is taught through a combination of block mode face-to-face and online teaching,using the WebEx system from CISCO, one of the most sophisticated, secure, practical and easy-to-use online teaching platform.
Real case demonstrations on video and in a master class format will be included. The specific delivery is as follows:
1. A 2-day workshop (9am – 5pm) presenting the entire theoretical and research bases underlying MiCBT
2. Five 2-hour (online) weekly sessions
3. A 1-day workshop on Week 7, for the practising of skills learned in the past six weeks
4. A 1-hour (online) class on Week 8, to revise and close the course.

The registration fee includes morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch (Weeks 1 and 7) and course materials below.
COURSE MATERIALS
- Book: Mindfulness-integrated CBT: Principles and Practice by Dr Cayoun (Wiley-Blackwell, 2011) as the practice manual for each step of the program.
- Cds: Two professionally recorded 80-minute CDs for the full implementation of mindfulness training (for beginners and advanced).
- Free access to over 30 client handouts and therapist work forms, and free associate membership to the MiCBT Institute.
