Description
|
Workshop content will involve practical and experiential components. Participants will learn:
- skills in mindfulness practice
- theoretical fundamentals of mindfulness training
- incorporating the complex foundations (locus and dynamics) of behaviour maintenance and change to improve therapeutic efficacy
- how to engage the client in the treatment plan
- the four stages of MiCBT with patients diagnosed with most DSM-V Axis I and Axis II mental health disorders and some health conditions, such as addictions, chronic pain and trauma
- mindfulness-based relapse prevention strategies.
This 2-day workshop will involve learning material through various modalities, including:
- lecture sections with power-point
- guided practice of mindfulness meditation
- role-play
- direct demonstration of immediate distress-reduction during real-life therapy sessions with Dr Cayoun (on video) and with present group members.
