The MiCBT Institute is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 60174) and leading provider of training and professional development services in Mindfulness-integrated CBT (MiCBT) to the mental health industry in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region.

The MiCBT Institute is headed by Clinical Psychologist Dr Bruno Cayoun. The aim of the Institute is to promote and develop the science of Mindfulness-integrated Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Its philosophy is to make MiCBT available and beneficial to as many people as possible and it acts on this philosophy by carefully selecting professional candidates for training, training them to high levels of skill in the use of MiCBT applied to their professional area, supporting and supervising them during their training and providing them with opportunities for continuing professional development on an ongoing basis after training.

The Institute is composed of several specialist groups whose members are located in various Australian states.

  • The Accreditation Board assesses professional competencies in MiCBT and provides accreditation to trained professionals.
  • The Research Group undertakes MiCBT research and disseminates results in peer-reviewed journals and applies for research grants. Click here for current research.
  • The Education and Development Group designs and updates the MiCBT course curriculum, therapist and client forms.
  • The Training Group runs MiCBT courses and pre-requisite courses for both practitioners and teachers.
