Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to provide participants with a sound understanding of Mindfulness-integrated Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MiCBT) and the necessary skills to implement it confidently in their clinical work with individual clients and groups in various settings. Students will learn skills to implement the four stages of MiCBT with a wide range of mental health clients. In particular, they will learn the following:

  •  Core and advanced skills in mindfulness meditation and their practice in daily life
  • Theoretical fundamentals of mindfulness approaches
  • The complex foundations of maintenance and change in thoughts, emotions and behaviour
  • Engaging the client in the MiCBT treatment plan
  • Mindfulness-based distress reduction methods
  • Mindfulness-based relapse prevention strategies.
