Level of Learning Activity

No prior knowledge of mindfulness is assumed, but basic skills in cognitive and behavioural techniques are required. MiCBT is a mindfulness-based therapy specifically designed to address clinical and subclinical conditions.

Purpose of Workshop

Mindfulness-integrated Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MiCBT) is an evidence-based integration of mindfulness training (in the Burmese Vipassana tradition) and CBT core principles applicable for a wide range of conditions and ages. The aim of this 1-day workshop is to introduce the application of MiCBT to address crisis, chronic conditions and to help prevent relapse in a wide range of psychological disorders. It will describe the co-emergence model of reinforcement which underpins MiCBT and expands our conventional understanding of operant conditioning. The workshop will also 3-Day Workshop introduce participants to new exposure and desensitization techniques and the transdiagnostic use of these skills across a wide range of conditions, including in the presence of complex comorbidity.
